Hands-on-approach Print E-mail

Participatory leadership is a good way to describe “a hands on approach” as it suggests just that. A leader is close to the action and participates in all facets of operations. Problem solvers at the root, they take care of all issues related to the workflow process and any and all conflicts before they grow into problems by understanding the effects of polarization, individual and group dramatics, personal attacks, we-them attitudes, and act as the change agent by promoting improvements, ergonomic understanding and teamwork. Leaders are jack-of-all-trades and pitch in when necessary, they need to understand the functions and processes of their entire working environment and are role-models for all to follow. If leaders are willing to get on their knees and pitch-in then their staff will be inspired and follow. Participatory leadership is an important catalyst to success and well-being. As the old saying goes, “what you put in is what you get out”.
